FAQ’s

How much do intensives cost?

Intensive sessions are billed at $250/hr. A 50% deposit will be required to confirm your appointment times. The remaining 50% will be paid on the first day of the EMDR Intensive.

How long do intensives take?

Full day and 2-3 hour intensives (in-person or online) take between 1-4 days. Sessions typically begin at 9 am until about 4:00 pm. For full day sessions there will be several breaks.

Intensives are individualized based on your needs.

How do I prepare for an intensive?

The best way to prepare for an intensive is to schedule enough time prior, during, and after the intensive to focus on healing and allow the treatment to integrate into your system. The work we will be doing together is significant.

Consider this time as a personal healing retreat scheduling down time, naps, outdoor activities, art, journaling, massages, etc. to create space for yourself and your healing.

How are EMDR Intensives more cost effective than traditional sessions?

A single day retreat is up to 6 hours. This equals close to 2 months of weekly therapy sessions of 45-50 min.

Yes, EMDR Intensives are more cost effective due to the concentrated and highly focused approach of the work. Due to the session length treatment stays focused on your concerns for a longer amount of time. During weekly or shorter sessions, a significant amount of time is spent on opening and closing the session, which leaves less time for actual processing and healing.

Will you work with my therapist?

Yes. I will contact your therapist after you sign a release and coordinate treatment.

Do I need to have another therapist?

Depending on the areas we will address during the intensive treatment it is beneficial to have a relationship with a therapist that can support you after the treatment to help integrate certain aspects of the work. I will discuss the best approach to treatment with you during your intake session.

Do I have to live in Virginia to do an Intensive?

No. While you are visiting Virginia the healing work we complete is cocentrated over a short amount of time. This allows you to visit Virginia from anywhere in the world for the duration of your treatment. Your travel and accommodation are not covered in the intensive cost.
